The Observation Tube (left) takes you to a windowed chamber where you can sit and watch life under the ice. You can see Dr. Kanatous climbing down the tube. It is very dark under the ice while the ice itself glows a brilliant blue. The picture on the bottom shows the sea ice from underneath. Notice the further you go down from the ice the darker it gets. The lighter coloured area (within the blue) is a dive hole in the sea ice. We all took turns watching the penguins swimming. They are graceful and majestic in the water. We also saw jellyfish and could hear Weddell seals communicating with each other!
