How is Laurie Dexter able to fund his expeditions?

Expeditions such as the Canadian Millennial Antarctic Expedition cost more than a million dollars to fund travel, equipment, insurance etc. Laurie is constantly fund-raising. Large companies like Infosat are supporting him with equipment needs. For this Greenland trial, Infosat has supplied Laurie with a satellite phone and airtime. Laurie is still looking for further corporate sponsorship.

Laurie has also received support from dozens of individuals. For the Greenland Traverse Expedition trial, Laurie would like to give special thanks to the following people:

• Jim and Sandra Pitblado, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They purchased Laurie's sled valued at $5,000 US.
• Barry and Toska Quinnies, Mequon, Wisconsin, USA. They have paid for most of Laurie's travel costs for the Greenland trial.
• Mick Parsons of Spider Sails, Pentresil Farm, Johnstown, Carmarthen, Wales, UK. Spider made the sails for the expedition and Mick gave Laurie some tips on how to use them.
• John and Eileen Lilley, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They gave Laurie invaluable assistance in assembling his medical kit.
