One of the major goals of the Canadian Millennial Antarctic Expedition is to highlight the fragility of the Antarctic eco-system and the impact it has globally. The Arctic eco-system of Greenland supports marinelife from tiny ice-dwelling algae to the great whales. Through investigations of both polar regions we will develop a better understanding of how these vast, ice-covered regions respond to environmental change. This knowledge will better enable us to predict the response of all of Earth's systems to future environmental changes. See A multi-language Dictionary of Flora and Fauna Species in Greenland
