The Haughton-Mars Project (HMP) is a multidisciplinary investigation to study the Haughton Crater in the Canadian Arctic. The HMP98 took place from June 22 through July 26, 1998. Phase 1 of the HMP99 began on June 26 1999. Studying the Haughton Crater and it's surroundings will yield information about:
All experiments/instruments are being tested with an eye for possible use on future robotic planetary rovers or for a human Mars mission.
