Grade Five Summary

Although the atmosphere of Mars is very thin, it is by no means a benign environment.

The atmospheric circulation is driven by strong solar-powered convection currents. These currents produce winds which are strong enough to raise huge dust clouds in the weak Martian gravity.

The rotation of Mars also forms cyclonic systems in the Martian atmosphere.
