Diane's note: Laurie phoned in the following report. Satellite transmission was excellent!
We've had a fairly good day. Our freight finally caught up with us so we've been working all day on last minute odds and ends including fixing up our sleds, dividing out our food and filling up our fuel bottles with the white gas we have available here.
We're all pretty much set now for tomorrow. About 10 o'clock we expect to go by helicopter to Isertoq. Because we have a lot of freight they've promised us an extra helicopter; so they'll take us through first and then bring our freight later.
We're still not sure about going by dog team. We were hoping to do that but it looks like it's going to be very expensive even for just the short distance we were going to use them. We may find an alternate or we may just gopher it ourselves the whole way. (Note: the team planned to get their gear to the edge of the ice field by dog sled. They will then ski across the glacier, assisted by parasails where conditions permit.)
