Position: Sondre Stromfiord (Kangerlussuaq)
Laurie called from Kangerlussuaq. After travelling for 5 hours and covering a distance of 1 km., the team called for the helicopter to lift them off the glacier, 2 1/2 km. from the ice edge. The team is in good spirits and thankful for hot showers! They will spend today, Tuesday, cleaning and packing their gear in readiness for the flight home on Wednesday.
This is the final report for the Greenland trial but check back over the next couple of weeks as we will be mounting pictures from the expedition. We will also be posting news of the Canadian Millennial Antarctic Expedition planned for the fall.
Thanks to everyone who followed the expedition and sent their greetings to Laurie. See you in the fall!
